To say homeschooling is not easy is an incredible understatement. I have been homeschooling for eight years, and each year presents its unique joys and challenges. The following books are ones I consider vital to own for every homeschooling mom. #1: Teaching from Rest: A Homeschoolers Guide to Unshakable Peace by Sarah Mackenzie This book, beautifully written by Sarah Mackenzie, helps me stay focused on what is most important on this journey. It also challenges me to be present in the moment and to enjoy each day. #2: Lies Homeschooling Moms Believe by Todd Wilson Sometimes I just need a good laugh and Todd's book always does the trick. There are times when I put way too much pressure on myself and I simply need to relax and remember that I am human and so is everyone else. #3: Not So Fast: Slow-Down Solutions for Frenzied Families by Ann Kroeker
This is one of my favorite books because it encourages me to not get sucked into a culture that tempts me to live a hurried, fast-paced, activity filled life. When I read this book, I am reminded that there is beauty in simply "being" with my family and carving out time for intimate relationships.
